Counting Colors is a book of Poetry and drawings, made by Sonia Ruscoe collected from a decade of flotsam / jetsum of making work. Some of the poems were written in 2014 and some were written in January of 2025. Juvenalia comingles with some grounded and salient lines, all exploring the ekphrasis involved in the life of a person dedicated to painting.
This totally handmade book is Riso Printed by the artist and bound in watercolor drawings on arches paper, using a perfect binder. Made at Shandaken Print Residency and bound with help from Eurka press, only 9 versions were made and 8 are available. Each book is one of a kind.
